Golden Jubilee Celebration

The Bhaktavatsalam Educational Trust celebrated its Golden Jubilee on January 25, 2009. The Milestone event was held at the Vivekananda Auditorium of the Anna University, Chennai.
The function was presided over by His Excellency Dr.A.P.J.Abdul Kalam, former President of India who delivered an inspiring Golden Jubilee Address and interacted with the students of the various institutions under the Trust.
The function was also graced by Hon'ble Thiru.G.K.Vasan, Union Minister of State for Statistics and Programme implementation who fondly recalled his family's association with the family of the founder of the Trust, Late Thiru. O.V.Alagesan.	The other dignitaries present on the occasion were Thiru.N.Ram, Editor-in-Chief of "The Hindu" and Dr.P. Mannar Jawahar, Vice Chancellor of Anna University both of whom lauded the good work being done by the Trust and wished the Trust well.
The President of the Trust, Thiru.A. Vamanan, welcomed the gathering and gave a brief account of the history of the Trust.
Tmt. Sarojini Varadappan, the eldest and the sole serving Founder Trustee proposed the vote of thanks.
The function was well attended.
