To commemorate the Golden Jubilee of the Bhaktavatsalam Educational Trust in 2008, an incentive scheme was introduced for good performances in the Junior, Middle and High Schools levels both at the time of admission and at the end of each academic year.
The details of the scheme are as follows:
|90% and above||75% of tution fees|
|81% to 90%||60% of tution fees|
|75% to 80%||50% of tution fees|
There are three scholarships per class in the admission tests and in the annual exams and it will go to the three children who secure the top 3 totals of marks, provided they are in the ranges specified.
Eg.1: If in any class there are three children who have secured 95%, 92% and 90% they will be entitled to 75%, 60% and 50% fee concession respectively and no other child in the class will receive the incentive even if they have scored 80% to 90% or 75% to 80%.
Eg. 2: If in a class there is no child who has secured above 90% then the 75% incentive will not be given to anybody.
Eg. 3: Similarly if the highest marks in a class is 76%, the child will; be entitled to the 50% concession only and the 75% and 60% incentives will not be given to anybody.
The incentives applicable to the written admission tests will be payable only if the student concerned shows consistency and performs at the same level during the half yearly exams.
A student who receives incentives for performing well in the entrance exam and in the half yearly exam will no be entitled to receive any incentive based on performance in the annual exam.
Incentives for exceptional performance in sports and games:
Incentives will be given for performance at Inter-School, Zonal, Divisional, District and State levels. A sports person who receives the above incentive will be entitled to incentives based on academic performance also.
Any winning performance at Inter-school level, provided not less than 8 schools have taken part in the event, shall be rewarded in the case of both individual and team events.
O.V. Alagesan Centenary Award:
The O.V. Alagesan Centenary Award for the Best Student, in the three Brindavan Schools at Coonoor, Kodaikanal and Athur, is an annual award. It is instituted starting fro the academic year 2011-12, to commemorate the birth of the founder.
The criteria for the award include qualities of leadership, reliability and involvement in extra curricular activities, in addition to performance in academics. The prize for the best student is a collection of reference books and a certificate issued by the Bhakatavatsalam Education Trust, signed by the Chairman.
