The Brindavan Public School not only values education but also recognises the vital role that sports play in life.
BPS Coonoor held its 51st Annual Inter House Athletics Meet in August. Mr. Lutherford Alister Nelthropp Headmaster, The Laidlaw Memorial School, graced the occasion as chief guest and declared the meet open. Following the march past, the torch relay culminated with he chief guest lighting the flame. In addition to the athletic highlights – 100m boys, 100m girls and the respective relay events – “Fairy Fans” (field drill by classes 2-5) and “Gala with Hula” (field drill by classes 6-8) and a native dance of Mizoram (classes 8-12) captivated the audience. Congratulations to Tagore house for winning top honours!
At BPS Athur, the program commenced with the hoisting of the national flag, lighting of the flame and a march past. Chief guest Mr A Prabhakaran (District Educational Officer) inspired the gathering with his message stressing the importance of self belief and focus. Exhibition of karate, yoga and other field drills livened up the afternoon. Nehru house won the overall prize.
Events for the parents at both schools were thoroughly enjoyed, by parents and students alike.
