The Brindavan Schools reopened for the 2021-22 academic year today (16 June)
After another prolonged period of uncertainty, the Brindavan community has begun a new academic year.
Junior classes will be online from 9 - 11 AM and the senior classes from 12 - 4 PM.
Ever since the beginning of India's second wave in March, our students (especially those in classes X and XII) have been in a quandary. Class X exams were cancelled soon enough, but it was not until much later that Class XII exams were finally called off.
A Difficult Year
This has been a tough year for students and teachers alike. Just as everyone was looking forward to returning to pre-pandemic life, with schools partially reopening in January for the senior classes, India's COVID-19 case count began rising exponentially in March. Authorities and all stakeholders faced a difficult decision. Even polling among our parents indicated differences of opinion. While everyone recognised that the health of the children was of paramount importance, parents views varied on online versus in-person learning in a safe environment.
Looking Ahead
Brindavan is well prepared for any eventuality.
As cases decline almost as quickly as they rose earlier in the year, there is hope of a return to normalcy in the near future. As vaccination picks up pace and the community builds immunity, the disease will eventually recede. However, we must not let out guard down and be prepared for the worst, while hoping for the best.
With our large campuses set in beautiful surrounds and low number of students per class, we believe Brindavan is well prepared for any future method of learning - remote, in-person or hybrid. With our rigorous safety protocols, we safely conducted in person classes for grades IX - XII without any incident, with several of our students living on campus.
